Ramadan Mubarak!

Ramadan Mubarak!

Subject to local moon sightings, Ramadan is set to begin on April 13th. Ramadan is the 9th and the holiest month in the Islamic calendar where the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.). The holy month begins and ends with the appearance of the new moon. During this month, Muslims in Canada and across the world observe Ramadan by fasting from dawn till dusk, ending the day with iftar, commonly known as breaking the fast with family and friends. A time of charity and spiritual contemplation, Ramadan reminds us to put the needs of others before our own and to practice those values in our daily lives. Ramadan is a time of togetherness and this year we will continue to observe through online programs and virtual iftars. Let us take the time to recognize, and show gratitude for, the invaluable contributions Muslim Canadians make each day to our country.

To recognize Ramadan, my office has created Ramdan calendars for your households. I encourage you to print off a copy and share with your friends and families in town. Additionally, feel free to contact my team and we will arrange a curbside pick-up for you to pick up your own copy.

From my team to your families, Ramadan Mubarak!
