Getting Involved & Getting Help
Originally shared on May 13th, 2020
The past few months have completely changed the way we see the world and how we live our lives. My favourite part about representing the people of Milton has always been listening to the my neighbours, knocking on doors and taking part in all the great events the riding of Milton puts on. At a time when many of these things are no longer possible, I am so proud of the way our community has come together to find different ways to stay connected.
The people of Halton have come together like never before during this difficult time. Folks are organizing food drives, calling seniors and cheering from their front lawns for health care workers and we know they want to do more. We have shown our commitment to keeping each other safe and helping those who need it most.
If you are wondering, How can I get involved to help those who need it most? or Who can I turn to in our community if I need to access some supports and services?, I would like to help you out.
Our friends at Halton Community Services Directory have put together a COVID-19 Community Resource Hub. This helpful resource tells you how you can support the organizations that are helping those who need it most as well as where you can go in times of need.
Whether you need a helping hand or are looking to extend one, this is a great place to find what you are looking for.
