Joint Statement Calling for a Ceasefire in Gaza

On October 20th, 2023, I joined thirty-two of my colleagues in an open letter to the Prime Minister calling for a ceasefire and end to the violence in Palestine and Israel.

Canada has long been a voice for peace. The longer this conflict goes on, the more innocent civilians will pay with their lives.

As a member of the Canada-Palestine Parliamentary friendship group, I’m proud to be a signatory of this letter to the Prime Minister to take additional steps to stop the senseless violence immediately.

We demand that Canada join the growing international call for an immediate ceasefire. Canada must act before more innocent children are killed.

I reaffirm my support for the United Nations’ repeated calls for a ceasefire, release of all hostages, and unrestricted access to vital humanitarian aid in the region.
